“The star registration became a meaningful gift for my granddaughter Joelle, representing love, dreams, and wishes that she will always shine.”Samir Abu Arideh, a gift for his granddaughter
A small child may not understand the gift today. Your message gives their family something personal to keep and share when they are ready.
Choose the moment you are celebrating. The family’s preferred name, date and words should guide the dedication.
Celebrate a new arrival with their name and a message about all the love waiting for them. Confirm the spelling with the parents before ordering.
As a godparent, grandparent or family friend, write what you hope to be in their life. Choose a christening or naming-day date if that is the moment you are marking.
Celebrate each child as an individual within the same family story. Use both names in a shared dedication, or choose separate registrations if each should have their own.
Ask the parents which name, date and wording they want to mark. A simple dedication can celebrate love and belonging without retelling a child’s private history.

Use the child’s name and a date agreed with their family. A short welcome and your name are enough. For example:
Welcome to the world, Maya. With lots of love from Grandma and Grandad.
For Noah, on your christening day. All my love, Emma.
For Ella and Leo. Born 12 May 2026. With love from Auntie Kate.
Printed on museum-grade photo paper and gathered in our black-and-gold Gift Folder.
Add a matte black frame or a premium gift box when you order. See every piece on Print Quality.

Yes. You can dedicate a real star in our private register using a baby’s name, a meaningful date and your own message. It is a symbolic keepsake for the family. The name does not become an official astronomical designation.
A star dedication can mark a christening, naming ceremony or other family celebration. Choose the ceremony date and write a personal message from a godparent, grandparent or friend. The gift itself has no religious status; include religious wording only if it suits the family.
The printed Standard Star package currently costs £42.90, or £23.90 for PDF-only delivery. Printed Zodiac Star is £53.90 and Binary Star is £72.90. Optional extras and delivery charges are shown before payment.
Choose the date the family wants to celebrate, such as the birth, christening or naming-day date. For adoption, ask the family which date and language feel right. The printed date marks your dedication; it does not mean the star was discovered or created on that day.
Yes. A Binary Star package offers a two-star pairing that can symbolise twins. You can use both names in the dedication and review the available naming fields when ordering. Choose separate registrations if you want each child to have an individual registration.
It can be, when the family welcomes the idea. Ask which name, date and wording they prefer, and keep the child’s private history out of the dedication unless the family specifically wants it included. A simple message of love can mark the occasion without assumptions.
Wait until the family confirms the name and spelling before personalising the certificate. If you need something to give at a gathering first, write a card explaining the gift you plan to create once they are ready.
The certificate identifies a real star, and the star map and Star Finder app help locate it. Visibility depends on location, season, brightness, weather and light pollution. Some stars require binoculars or a telescope; an unaided view on a particular night cannot be guaranteed.
Choose a printed package for a physical keepsake or PDF-only delivery to print the documents yourself. A gift box and frame are optional extras. DHL Express 2–3 business days (£15.90), FedEx Standard 4–6 business days (£9.90), Free shipping 8–10 business days (Free)
No. The gift is a symbolic dedication recorded in Star Registration’s private register. It does not give the child ownership or legal rights, and the International Astronomical Union does not recognise purchased star names.
